This place is just so awesome! The food is delicious and the price is right.it never disappoints!

That's the risk you take when you try a little-known (to us) place- you find gems... and you find places that you won't return to. Sadly, Giuseppe's falls in the latter group for us.

Stopped by on our way from Boston back to Maine. We were looking for a restaurant that was neither fast food nor a franchise. Inside the place was nicely decorated, which gave us high hopes that this would be a great find. The menu was vast and held more high hopes, as the offerings ranged from standard Italian fare to some really creative dishes. As I read it, I wondered how they could produce so many varied dishes(seriously, the menu was huge). I had my suspicions that they would have to take what I call "short cuts". Sadly, that was the case. We ordered the Lasagna and the mushroom ravioli. The Lasagna was a ridiculous 9 or 10 layers of Lasagna noodles(but only 2.5" or 3" tall) with only the tiniest amount of bechamel between and the 'meat' sauce poured over the top. Very disappointing. The ravioli was bland. You can choose what kind of sauce it comes with. I got the white sauce. It was a tasteless glop. The bread was cold and so was the butter. Another disappointment.

Just ate there after it was recommended by a co-worker. Food was average and service was terrible. Ordered garlic bread and shrimp scampi for appetizers. Garlic bread came out and we waited and waited and waited. Waitress walks up and asked if we saved any room for desert. We said we haven't eaten yet. She leaves and brings out our Luke warm meals. Mine tasted fine but nothing you couldn't get anywhere else. We figured she forgot about the scampi. After about half my meal was gone she walks out and places the scampi on the table with an apology. I ate two shrimp and figured if I ate more I'd ruin my meal. They were way to salty. We left the appetizer there. My wife felt the same about her meal, nothing special. We won't be going back. Service was horrendous.

If you go, tell them you prefer a booth as there is no privacy or atmosphere... It should be named Giuseppe's Italian FAST FOOD instead if Giuseppe's Italian RESTAURANT...Service is also slow as no-one came to our table to see if everything was okay...Rather travel down Rt 1 for a better experience......

to be seated as people are coming in to pick-up their t/o..

A popular Italian eat-in, take-out restaurant in Newburyport. No reservations accepted... Place is small and overcrowded as patrons have to stand(very little sitting area) for up to 30-45 min

Seated at a table for two with my back almost being bumped into by servers as we were right next to the bar.. They used to serve a small plate for dipping bread but

I have worked in food service for years, and my suggestion to Giuseppe's is : scale back on your menu. Focus on a few great "signature" dishes. If you want to do fancy stuff, make them "specials" and do them well. You're trying to do too much. You didn't fool me. I know your shortcuts and they're not worth it.

that wasn't worth trying to eat...

It'd always a good experience. The menu is huge and the food is pretty good. Wait staff is wonderful.

that's been stopped as now it's just bread and butter... A few pieces of Italian bread (fresh) but cold...Had Veal Parm with Linguine... Veal was previously baked and not fried as when they re-heated it it was like mush... No crisp taste and put on top of a plate of way undercooked linguine
