I don't even want to give this 1 star! What happened to this hospital it used to be a good caring place. Now every experience has been awful. My husband was to be admitted on Friday and was told by his physician to go to ER and he would let them know that he would be coming and which tests that he was ordering. ER personnel just left us hanging for a long time. Everytime I asked for something I was told they would be right there.never came! Finally my husband was seen by a practioner not a Doctor. After all testing was done this practioner made the decision that he had to be transferred to BIDMC in Boston. So wait again for all arrangements to be made. Around 8.30 pm an ambulance came to take him to Boston. Once there they said he had no reason to be there and would not admit him. His Physician was at AJH looking for him and had never been informed about the transfer!! I called to AJH ER, it is now Saturday and no competent personnel was on duty, I explained how my husband is sitting in the ER at BIDM and was told he shouldn't be there and AJH needs to go get him. And was very rudely told no we don't! Then he transferred me to the operator! I called back and was hung up on. The last phone call I made they transferred me to medical records! I was not getting anywhere with this bunch! I had to go down to Boston and pick him up on Saturday when the rallies were going on! I think it's time to change hospitals!

If I could have given -5 Stars I would!!!

The triage staff at the ER already had my info and shortly after I was admitted while they tried to fit my surgery with the appropriate surgeon. I was expecting several hours' waiting time. They were able to accommodate me and I was in and of surgery and resting in post op in what seemed like an instant (the wonders of anaesthesia). Everyone was very professional, caring, and friendly. All in all, I was in recovery within 4:30 hours of arriving at my doctor's office.

I brought my brother to Anna Jaques hospital to have him admitted for psychatric evaluation as I am his heath care proxy. I explained his condition as well as what I believe to be the issue. He was admitted and spent one week in their care. At no time did they call me to discuss his condition or what they concluded. While I was the one who waited 8 hrs to have him admitted, they called my sister to let her know he would be discharged the next day. Really? No communication and then arbitrarily decided that he will be discharged with absolutely no change in his condition from what my sister could discern (i was in Atlanta visiting my son). If this is the level of care this hospital provides, go elsewhere. Just horrendous...and they call themselves professionals? College educated...I don't think so...no moral or ethical behavior in my estimation.

WORST ER EVER!!!!!

Do yourself a favor and drive to Beverly or Portsmouth!

most horrific experience in my life. No blood work in the ER. I was treated by Doogie Howser MD (yeah maybe 30 and completely incompetent) I am a transplant survivor and they had me out in under 2 hours. I also gave them my insurance info 3X and they still have no processed it properly. I call the operator to explain the situation and she just transfers me in the MIDDLE OF TALKING. I HATE THIS HOSPITAL. EVERYONE IS AN IDIOT. GO ELSEWHERE.

I went for an appointment with one of their surgeons for what I thought would be a quick outpatient visit. I was in extreme pain, upon examination the Dr indicated he would like for me to have surgery as soon as possible on the same day. He called ahead and one of his staff nurses helped me to get to the ER.

Over an hour for a Physician’s Assistant they gave him more Motrin, had us wait, and said call his doctor in the morning.

Came in at the advice of our baby’s pediatrician because he has been screaming in pain all day, and were “Fast Tracked”! Only one person ahead of us and 30 minutes for a nurse. Meanwhile baby is SCREAMING bloody murder and nobody even comes to check! Still waiting for a doctor! Absolutely horrible! They clearly don’t care about people here!

Highly recommend this facility. This is th second procedure I have had at Anna Jaques.

Great experience in a unexpected situation.
